The fans are screaming and the deadline isn't moving.

Compute Overload is a cosy-but-tense data centre management game. You've got five minutes per shift: accept orders, place hardware, keep everything cool — and end the shift richer than you started.

HOW TO PLAY

  • Accept or reject incoming orders — each one needs a certain number of free CPUs or GPUs, and pays on completion
  • Buy hardware from the shop (bottom right), then click a cell on the floor to place it — CPUs, GPUs and cooling fans
  • Watch the heat map — overloaded racks overheat, degrade, and can be destroyed entirely. Spread your units out or add cooling
  • Repair damaged units via the repair bay before they die — destroyed hardware is a total loss
  • Boost cooling when things get desperate — it costs power, but it buys time
  • Click any unit to inspect its health. Sell hardware you no longer need

CONTROLS

  • Mouse — everything
  • Esc — pause menu (volume, how to play, exit to menu)
  • 1x button — speed control when you're confident

YOUR SHIFT, GRADED

When the clock hits zero, you get a full report: profit, orders completed, money spent on repairs and replacements, peak temperature — and a grade. Beat your best and it's recorded on the home screen.

DETAILS

  • 5-minute runs, endless replay-ability
  • Stats that persist between sessions — shifts completed, best score, average
  • Procedurally generated lo-fi soundtrack and SFX
  • Play in browser, or download the Windows build for the full neon-glow version
